The purple flowers look to me like they might be columbines (a.k.a. aquilegia). Something I've always wanted to grow but haven't gotten around to yet. :-)

...but poisonous. Angels Trumpet in Alexandra Gardens
These unusual flowers are in pots near the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets. Anyone know what they are?
