Boing!

Too lazy to go take a picture of my sneakers

I bought myself some bouncy new runners today. My other ones were completely had it - not surprising since I've been walking 30-plus kilometres a week in them for 18 months.

I christened the new ones by wearing them to the gym tonight. I love the springy, cushiony feeling and the shiny whiteness of new sneakers. If I'd worn a new pair of sports socks tonight as well, my feet would have been in tootsie heaven.

My wallet also appreciated that I got $30 off the price tag because I'm a member of the Melbourne City Baths.

* Remember from school when you had new white sneakers and kids would "christen" them by stomping on them? Or was that just my school?

It wasn't just your school. I remember scuffing up new school shoes on the way to school to try and hide the newness.

Also I remember that if anyone turned up with a new shirt the pocket would be removed ASAP.

30 km/week! Way to go.

scuffing new shoes? how about painting them white with a bottle and a brush from the supermarket? Does anyone else remember applying white liquid to canvas tennis shoes in this manner, and then leaving them on a piece of newspaper in the laundry or outside to dry? And of course, when Saturday came around, and it was time for lawn gambols, remember dusting off the white, dried up powder (from the shoelaces as well) and cracking the application veneer with the first, foot-in foot crease?

ps happy birthday to SOMEBODY today! :) Hip hip hooray! :)

New bouncy shoes are always fun. I just had my pair of UGGs resoled and they are good as new again! Happy walking!
