More comedy, young, warm ears

My friend Luke and I saw Irish comedy-rock group Dead Cat Bounce on Friday night at the Spiegeltent. (My third visit!) It was a spontaneous choice, but a good one. They sing funny songs in the style of an 80s cock rock group. We both liked it. I think the first song  - about the impact of Reagonomics told using the characters from Wind in The Willows - was my favourite.

I had a friend visit this weekend and she showed me some photos from our 20th high school reunion in November (which I obviously didn't attend). I couldn't believe how old some of them look! Old! I admit I felt quite smug about not looking my age.

I bought some furry ear muffs yesterday. My ears get very chilly when I'm walking to work on cold winter mornings, so they should fix that problem. I almost hope we have some frosty mornings this week so I can wear them. (I will post a photo of me wearing them another time.)

You know what's ace? Kissing. Kissing is ace.

Freedom and Joss Whedon

South Wharf

I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! It hasn't really sunk in yet that I've left my job - I was there for six years afterall. I'm sure it will seem more real on Monday morning...

I have a meet and greet for a temp role at a large law firm on Tuesday afternoon. I bought myself a new suit today in preparation. Wish me luck!

I went out on Friday night to celebrate my freedom with friends. We had drinks then dinner and coffee on Hardware Lane in the city. It was fun.

I can't believe I forgot to mention earlier that I'm going to see Joss Whedon, the creator/writer/director of Buffy and Angel and many other shows, deliver a keynote address during the Melbourne Writers' Festival! Yays!

Free time, expecting cuddles and yum

It's Friday night and I'm enjoying having it to myself for the first time in about a month. Even if I'm just sitting at home on my 'puter listening to The White Stripes and eating crackers and dip.

I'm looking forward to visiting my friends and their two little boys tomorrow - my quasi nephews, one of whom is the three year old with Spiderman on speed dial. Hopefully I'll get a cuddle.

I know I'm definitely getting corned beef for dinner. Yum. My favourite. It'll be the first decent home cooked meal I've had in quite some time (I haven't been looking after myself very well, even when I've had the chance...). They're very good to me.

Speaking of anticipation....THIS TIME IN TWO WEEKS I'LL BE EN ROUTE TO NEW YORK!!!

I discovered some old White Stripes songs on YouTube today that I'd never heard. Sweet.
