November: day 18

Crossing Morell Bridge on my way home tonight

I checked my bank account today and there was lots of money in it. I thought I'd forgotten to pay the rent the other day, but no - my tax return arrived on pay day. I'm rich! I'm rich! Nah, not really; my tax refund will be spent on boring, responsible, grown up stuff.

I went to the gym and to pilates today after work today. And I've done 17,000 steps. And I feel pretty good. Well, quite OK.

I bought a new pillow recently and it's soooo comfy. I can't wait to put my head on it.

Spiegeltent, return of the plovers, perfect pillow

I bought tickets to see Clairy Brown and the Bangin' Rackettes at the Famous Spiegeltent this Friday. Wooh. It will be my first time seeing them live and my fifth or six visit to the delightful Spiegeltent. There's a lot of great bands playing during this season of the Spiegeltent. I'm hoping to go more than once.

I saw Mr and Mrs Plover on my walk to and from work today. I haven't seen them foraging for food on the banks of the Yarra for months. I was worried something had happened to them...not that I can tell whether this is the same pair of plovers as before, but I prefer to assume it is.

I bought a new pillow a few months ago and I've only just worn it in now. It's juuuusst right. So comfy.

Toasty oats, good timing, perfect pillow

I've gone off porridge for breakfast lately, so I toasted some rolled oats with butter, maple syrup and brown sugar to have instead, and it's delicious.

No one put the bins out last night, but as I was leaving for work I got them to the curb just as the recycling truck pulled up (and before the garbos arrived). Phew.

I've been sleeping on a new pillow - well, an old new pillow. I've had it for years, but found it a touch too high for me, but for some reason it's now just perfect. Soooo soft and comfy.
