Soft light

I really enjoyed my walk home tonight. I didn't walk a different way or see anything particularly noteworthy - there was just something about the light. It seemed softer than normal.

Maybe it was because I came home later than I usually would after work which meant everything was a little glowy or perhaps it was the haze hanging over the city which gave everything a soft-focus look. Or a combination of the two.

As desperately as we need rain, it was a beautiful, balmy evening to be walking along the river. There were people having barbecues along the banks and lots of rowers punting up and down the river.

And whaddya know, I took some photos.

It was a bit that way last night. I think combo of smoke haze, a few high clouds to diffuse the light a little made it that way.

I like them both but the top one really grabs me.
Do you exhibit at all?

Hey db. The air is still quite hazy - though it doesn't seem to be smoke. Some other pollution, I guess.

Hi Jayne. I like the top one much better too. Exhibit? Gosh! Only in the blogosphere! But I'm very flattered that you've asked. You've made my day. It's just a hobby at the moment. I don't even have any of my own photos framed, but I do intend to get some done soon. I have been planning to upload some photos to Red Bubble too (online art gallery/shop type thing) to see how that goes.

FL - no drama.. well it worked on the photo.. the last week or so the smoke has made the sunlight orange or red, especially a few days last week it was very odd.
