The tax man delivers, bouncy sneakers and Wagons

Hey, look, it's my feet!

Weeeeee! My tax refund has arrived, which means I get to go camera shopping. The tax man gave me back a little more than I was expecting too, which was a pleasant surprise.

I can't wait to get out there and start taking pictures with my new camera. I've taken some great shots with my basic little Kodak Easyshare, but I'm excited about upgrading.

Bouncy, bouncy

I already did a little shopping in anticipation of my tax refund. I needed some new casual sneakers (i.e. not gym shoes) and I saw a pair that I instantly loved. I normally struggle to find sneakers I like - either the style isn't right or I don't like the colours (turquoise and canary yellow anyone?), but these ones were perfect in every way.

I had to order them in because I couldn't find them in my size, so I got to enjoy the anticipation of their arrival instore. They arrived on Tuesday and I wore them for the first time yesterday. I love new bouncy, cushiony sneakers!

And quiet! I'm so stealthy in them. Guess they don't call 'em sneakers for nothing, hey?

I want to wear them everywhere!

Yet more glee!

I got me some tickets tonight to see one of my new favourite bands, Wagons, on Melbourne Cup Eve. Woohoo!

This is them (persist with the lame talky bit) -

Yo-ho-ho, sneakers! As Robert Louis Stevenson wrote:

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.

So, camera in hand, sneakers to the pavement, what can you find?

I really like the purple. :) (Got any good tips for good places to get coloured ones then?? I've been trying to get something more interesting than white this time around, and am collecting place suggestions!)

Wow, people are quick off the mark tonight. I like it!

Hi Anonymous. I really like that quote. Thanks! I'm sure I will let you know what I find...I'm champing at the bit.

Hello abbeysmum. I love purple. It's my fave colour. These sneakers are actually from the men's range, but I don't think anyone will pick that I've got boy shoes on, do you?

I'm definitely getting a Canon. Just not entirely sure which one yet...there's so many to choose from. I had no idea.

I haven't been quite daily this week with my posts. It hasn't been an overly gleeful week - I've been nipped on the butt by the financial crisis, I've had a sore head for over days on end and I've found myself dwelling on the past a bit. But as I say, if you look for it, you will find glee.

Hey Julian. The purple is awesome, isn't it? I love the whole purple/black/silver combo. I got them at Glue at QV, but Hype DC has an even wider range. There's a store in the city (also at QV) one on Chapel Street, one on Bridge Road and I'm sure there's one at Chaddy because there couldn't possibly be a chain store that isn't there. Good luck finding a colour combo you like - I advise against the turquise and yellow!

Thanks for the tips. :) Turquoise and yellow? I'm happy to avoid that one. ;) I'm more of a blue person (in case you hadn't already noticed!).

Wonderful sneakers ... love the color. What fun to be shopping for a new camera ... no wonder you're so gleeful. :)

I have you listed in my blog roll but I've noticed that when you post, it doesn't update. Do you happen to know why? You're always at the bottom of the roll and I feel bad about that. If you know how I can fix that ... I'd love to move you up.

Have a great weekend!
