There's a jacaranda tree in the Flagstaff Gardens! See? I never knew. I don't get over that side of the CBD very often. I love jacarandas. It's a whole tree of purple and purple is my favourite colour.
When I lived in a small country town, there was a little white weatherboard cottage up the street from us with a green tin roof and a jacarandah in the yard. The purple looked so pretty against the white and green house.
Cool
Our spell of hot weather came to an end today with a stormy cool change and a little rain. What a relief. Love the smell of rain on hot bitumen.
There's meant to be more rain tomorrow. Yay for rain.
Angel (hee, just as I typed 'Angel' then, Gin Wigmore sang the very same word!)
I got the Angel DVD box set on my lunch break today. I didn't let the 37 degree heat deter me from my mission.
Happily, I have a relatively free weekend coming up and I plan to spend quite a bit of it lying on my couch watching Angel and his cohorts slay vampires, demons and so on.

One place we lived in had a jacaranda. It was huge. Best viewed from a slight distance and gee are the messy. Still, a beautiful sight. Gather the photo is a few weeks old?
Hi Andrew. No, I took it today actually. What makes you say that?
Yeah, love the smell of napalm in the morning :-)
Yay for the cool change! (The only downside was that we lost the power for about 5 hours.)
Angel huh? I watched the first season or two of that a long time ago, but ended up stopping. Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend to me, though. :)
Love Jacarandas!
There's a country town in NSW somewhere (can't recall off the top of my head) who hold a pageant each year for the Jacaranda Queen, been going for decades.
Been watching Angel on Foxtel, just finished the series and has started over again. *sigh* It still finished with the big war on Evil and Spike bagging the dragon ;)
Which also reminds me that I've got to watch a large number of Press Gang episodes at some point, now that I'm back. (For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, all I can say is that you've really missed out. ;) )
One of the perks of having your flat to yourself, watching what you like for hours !Just finished watching 3 hours of "Paris,je t'aime"
One week to go Wooooo Hoooo !!!
Jacarandas come into flower with the warm weather, Brisbane trees always flower before the ones in the hinterland, so some are almost finished and some are looking good, depending on the climate.
Grafton is the place that has a huge Jacaranda festival.
I love the Flagstaff gardens. A quite underrated oasis in the city.
